IHG to Bring All Six Luxury & Lifestyle Brands to Saudi Arabia by 2028

IHG Hotels & Resorts will introduce all six of its Luxury & Lifestyle brands to Saudi Arabia by 2028, with each already operating or in development, reinforcing the Kingdom as one of the group’s most important global growth markets.

IHG entered Saudi Arabia in 1975 with the opening of InterContinental Riyadh and now runs 48 open hotels with a further 62 in the pipeline, one of its largest development pipelines worldwide. The six-brand Luxury & Lifestyle lineup spans InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Six Senses, Regent, Hotel Indigo, Vignette Collection and Kimpton, the last of which made its Middle East debut earlier this year with the opening of Kimpton KAFD Riyadh.

Two brands are set to make their regional debut through this expansion. Regent Jeddah Corniche, expected to open in 2027, will be the brand’s first property in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East. Hotel Indigo & Residences Al Khobar, due in 2028, will introduce that brand to the Kingdom for the first time. Six Senses Amaala is expected to open in 2026, with Six Senses AlUla following in 2027.

Haitham Mattar, IHG’s Managing Director for the Middle East, Africa and Southwest Asia, said the group is not simply growing its footprint but helping shape the future of hospitality in the Kingdom, pointing to rising demand for distinctive, design-led experiences with authentic local character. IHG established a dedicated Riyadh office in 2023 to support owner relationships and hotel performance.

The expansion aligns directly with Saudi Arabia’s target of 150 million annual visitors by 2030, and adds to a broader pattern of international operators layering multiple brand tiers into the Kingdom simultaneously, rather than growing one brand at a time.
