Howard Johnson by Wyndham Debuts in Riyadh, Converting a 40-Year-Old Property

Howard Johnson by Wyndham has opened in Riyadh’s Al Nasiriyah district, marking the brand’s debut in the Saudi capital through the conversion of a property that previously operated as the Saudia Hotel for more than four decades. The conversion, completed in 2026, included upgraded accommodation, refreshed public spaces, meeting facilities, dining areas and guest amenities.

Mohamad Haj Hassan, Market Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said Saudi Arabia’s transformation under Vision 2030 is creating significant momentum for quality accommodation serving both domestic and international travellers, and that the opening reflects the group’s commitment to unlocking the potential of existing hospitality assets. The project also expands Wyndham’s relationship with Concept Towers Real Estate Limited, which owns and operates Ramada by Wyndham Riyadh King Fahd Road.
