Hyatt Moves to Add Three Riyadh Hotels Through Artal Partnership

Amsa Hospitality and Artal Hotels have signed hotel management agreements covering three properties in Riyadh, alongside a memorandum of understanding with Hyatt that sets out a path for all three to eventually operate under Hyatt brands.

The properties span three districts, Al-Muhammadiyah, Al-Sahafa and Al-Nafel, and combine one new-build hotel with two conversions. The Al-Nafel property, currently under development, is planned as a 70-unit, all-suite hotel. All three are expected to open, and be rebranded where applicable, in phases by the end of 2026.

Briana Swift, Hyatt’s vice president of development for Saudi Arabia, said the memorandum reflects the company’s approach of partnering with local owners and operators as it builds out its presence in the Kingdom, working with players who understand both the strength of the brand and the expectations of domestic and visiting travellers.

The deal is a small but telling example of how Saudi hotel growth is increasingly built through local ownership groups partnering with international operators, a structure shaping much of the current signings activity across Riyadh’s secondary districts as well as its established commercial core.
